Her coinage of new words by typifying compression and economy of expression, include words like "re-Returned" (p.9), "sariflapping" (p.6) and "Coming Soon! Posters" (p.101). Roy's infusion of regionalism in the description of "Foreign Returnees," (p.140) reaction at the dust filled shabbiness of Cochin Airport, as, "Oho! Going to the dogs India is" (p.140) clearly transmits Indian realities in a language that flickers with Indian spirit (See details in chapter 4).
