Converting organic waste to soil conditioner is a general practice for waste management. However, how about generation of energy out of waste along with manure production? With this concept, we have tried to convert organic kitchen waste along with cattle dung to biogas, an important biofuel. The optimization of solid to water rations and environmental temperature for enhanced biogas production has been covered. Further, nutritional value of digested slurry and calorific value of generated biogas was also studied. Influenced plant growth due to application of digested slurry with that of chemical fertilizers in various combinations have also been studied and promising results were obtained.
