Forests are one of our planet's most valuable natural capital that sustains environment, enables economic growth, and they are carbon sinks that mitigate the greenhouse gas emissions which drive global issues like climate change. Nowadays, there is a growing demand for reliable information on forest and tree carbon stock at both national and global levels. Therefore, measuring and estimating carbon stocks; and monitoring the state and changes in carbon stocks in various pools are very important to carbon trading and marketing. In this regard, the author wants to provide the baseline information of the role of forest types in carbon dynamics.

Ghimire, PramodMr. Pramod Ghimire graduated as a professional forester in 2012 from Institute of Forestry, Hetauda under Tribhuvan University, Kathmandu, Nepal. He has obtained an M.Sc. in Forestry from Agriculture and Forestry University, Chitwan Nepal. He is currently working as Assistant Professor at Agriculture and Forestry University, Nepal.
