Professor Peng Duan is the Vice-President of the Communication University of China, the Executive Associate Director of the Key State Lab of Media Convergence and Communication (Communication University of China), and the Managing Editor of the SAGE journal Global Media and China. He is one of China's leading scholars, with broad experience in journalism and communication studies, particularly in the fields of radio and television news, communication theories and audience analysis. Lei Zhang is Researcher and Ph.D. Supervisor in the National Centre for Communication Innovation Studies, Communication University of China. He has published more than 60 papers in journals such as Media Culture and Society, Global Media and Communication, Modern Communication while also serving as Deputy Director of the Editorial Board of Global Communication, along with Assistant Chief Editor of Global Media and China. Particularly in the early days, he has gained richness of the experience for being a visiting Scholar at the University of Pennsylvania, City University of Hong Kong and University of London.
Up to present, Dr. Zhang has supervised over 3 provincial- and ministerial-level projects funded by the China's Ministry of Education, Radio and Television Administration and National Language Commission. Apart from that, he has also contributed to several key projects to be granted by the National Social Science Fund and Ministry of Education.
Kai Song is Associate Researcher and Master Supervisor at the Institute of Mobile Internet and Social Media, Communication University of China (CUC) where he has a dual responsibility of being Deputy Secretary of the party committee at the School of Computer Science and Cyberspace. He is the author of at least 20 published journal articles and research reports as well as 2 academic monographs. projects. He received M.Sc. in Information and Communicating Engineering from CUC in 2011.
In particular, Kai Song's research exposure includes social media, big data application, AI, public opinion monitoring visualization, mobile Internet technology and information science. As a thought leader in a certain field, he has served as invited expert in several different media and research groups, such as Phoenix Television, Shenhua Group and the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council (SASAC).
Xiao Han is currently a Research Assistant at the Mobile Internet & Social Media Centre at the Communication University of China. She is also a Commissioning Editor of the SAGE journal Global Media and China. Her representative works have published in Feminist Media Studies and the Springer Handbook of Communication for Development and Social Change after obtaining Ph.D. in Mass Communication and Journalism from the University of Westminster in June 2016.
