Teachers, learners, examination boards, education ministries, textbook writers, publishers and anyone, for that matter, interested in the teaching and learning of register in English as a Second Language across the globe will find this book richly enlightening. The book is bound to be helpful to teachers of English embarking on teaching English register as it lights the way through a multicultural terrain. The book looks at the influence of cultural capital on register and some ways to help learners to acquire the linguistic, social and stylistic competences to spend in studying register in a Second Language. It is an indisputable fact that learners of English as a second language experience difficulties with register work in different ways. However, this book provides valuable information on taxing aspects, why the aspects are problematic and ways of allaying the challenges. Thus, this book- born out research work- is a must read for all stakeholders.
