Presence of smear layer reduces the interlocking mechanism between the filling material and dentin walls. Mechanical preparation of the root canal with saline irrigation could not eliminate microorganisms from the infected root canal system, so that, the use of satisfactory irrigation is mandatory to reduce bacteria and complete cleaning effect. For that reason, this study aimed to assess and compare the effect of Er:Cr:YSGG laser, Diode laser 940 nm, EndoActivator and XP-endo finisher on smear layer removal by SEM analysis. And also to measure and compare the effect of Er:Cr:YSGG laser, Diode laser 940 nm, EndoActivator, and XP-endo finisher on radicular dentin permeability.

Al-Mafrachi, Ruaa M.Ruaa Al-Mafrachi is an Iraqi dentist, she got a Bachelor degree B.D.S at the age of 23 years and then she completed a rotation residency at Al-Karama specialized dental center. After that, she has worked at the Iraqi ministry of health. She completed an M.Sc. in laser sciences in dentistry from Institute of Laser / Baghdad University.
