Sylke Hausmann investigates whether the scenario ofabandoning nuclear energy is a realistic, reasonable and feasibleaim. The question is put into the context of the current Germanenergy situation and relates to current political and geopoliticalissues, such as security of supply and Kyoto Protocol targets. Theauthor conducted interviews with German politicians of all majorparties, non-governmental organisations as well as Germanelectricity suppliers. This book is addressed to politicians,energy companies, ecological groups and communities, and everybodyinterested in nuclear energy in Germany and the German energysituation.

Sylke Hausmann, B.A.(Hons.) Dipl.-Kffr.(FH) studied Bus.Mgmt. at Napier University Edinburgh and European Business Studies at University of Applied Sciences Aachen. She currently works for the renewable electricity supplier LichtBlick in Hamburg as an Account Manager. Prior to her studies she worked as a branch manager for a major German bank.
