There is an optimum time for performing critical farming operations such as planting and harvesting. Crop yields tend to be highest when these critical operations are done closest to the optimum time. Farmers with high-capacity machines can perform the critical operations quickly and thus accomplish them close to the optimum time. Mechanization can also improve the quality of farm operations. It is very pertinent to inculcate basic knowledge about various farm machines among the undergraduate students. This book on Farm Machinery & Power has been made particularly to meet the course requirement of the B.Sc. (Ag) students as per the latest syllabus recommended by the ICAR.

Kumar, SanojDr.(Er.) Sanoj Kumar is presently working as Scientist in the Department of Agricultural Engineering at BIhar Agricultural College, Sabour. He has also served as Head of Department for more than 11 years. He has also undertaken various national/international projects. Currently he is P.I. of Farm Machine Testing Centre at BAU, Sabour.
