Autoren-Porträt von Gordon Ramsay
Scottish by birth, Gordon Ramsay was brought up in Stratford-upon-Avon, England, and initially aspired to be a professional footballer. However, when an injury prematurely put an end to any hopes of a promising career on the pitch, Ramsay went back to college to complete a course in hotel management. His dedication and natural talent led him to train with some of the world's leading chefs, including Albert Roux and Marco Pierre White in London, and Guy Savoy and Joël Robuchon in France. At the age of 35, Ramsay branched out on his own to set up his first wholly-owned and namesake restaurant, Restaurant Gordon Ramsay. Restaurant Gordon Ramsay opened in 1998, and quickly received the most prestigious accolade in the culinary world - three Michelin stars. Today, Restaurant Gordon Ramsay is London's longest-running restaurant to hold this award, and Ramsay is one of only four chefs in the UK to maintain three stars.
Now internationally renowned and holding seven Michelin stars, Ramsay has opened over 58 restaurants globally including Europe, America, Asia and the Middle East. Ramsay is also a star of the small screen in the US and UK, with MasterChef US, Hell's Kitchen, Kitchen Nightmares and Gordon, Gino and Fred, to name a few. He earned himself an EMMY nomination in 2017.
Ramsay has released a number of bestselling books, his latest cookbook is Ramsay in 10.
Gordon has five children, Megan, twins Jack and Holly, Tilly and Oscar. He lives with his wife Tana and divides his time between London, Los Angeles and Cornwall.

Rezension zu „Gordon Ramsay's Ultimate Cookery Course “
This is an unexpected breath of fresh air... He's ditched the showing off and gone back to basics. The book is written in a matter-of-fact, unpatronising style, but his years of knowledge shine through on every page. He covers everything, from the fundamentals of kitchen kit and how to season a pan, to tips that even experienced cooks might not know... All in all, a long overdue correction to the sweary, shouty, cheffy image. Daily Mail
