Dean McKay, Ph.D., ABPP is Associate Professor, Department of Psychology, Fordham University. He currently serves on the editorial boards of Behaviour Research and Therapy, Journal of Clinical Psychology and Journal of Anxiety Disorders, and is Associate Editor of Journal of Cognitive Psychotherapy (term beginning 2008). He has published more than 70 journal articles and book chapters and has delivered more than 100 conference presentations. Dr. McKay has been a member of the Obsessive Compulsive Cognitions Working Group since 1995. He is Board Certified in Behavioral and Clinical Psychology of the American Board of Professional Psychology (ABPP), is a Fellow of the American Board of Behavioral Psychology and the Academy of Clinical Psychology as well as a Clinical Fellow of the Behavior Research and Therapy Society. Dr. McKay has recently completed co-editing two books related to the treatment and research on OCD (with Drs. Jonathan Abramowitz of UNC-Chapel Hill and Steven Taylor of University of British Columbia). He is also editing books on refractory cases in adults (to be published by the American Psychological Association with Drs. Abramowitz and Taylor) and children (to be published by Springer with Dr. Storch), and is editing a text on diagnostic issues of anxiety disorders (to be published by Springer) with Drs. Abramowitz, Taylor, and Dr. Gordon Asmundson (of University of Regina).Dr. McKay is currently completing a book on the theoretical bases of empirically supported cognitive-behavior therapy interventions (to be published by Lawrence Erlbaum Associates) and is co-editor (with Bunmi Olatunji of Vanderbilt University) of a forthcoming book titled Disgust and Its Disorders to be published by the American Psychological Association. He has also recently completed editing the Handbook of Research Methods in Abnormal and Clinical Psychology (to be published by Sage). tentatively titled Clinical Psychology: Scientific and Cultural Foundations (to be published by Blackwell/Wiley). His research has focused primarily on Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD), Body Dysmorphic Disorder and Hypochondriasis and their link to OCD, and the role of disgust in psychopathology. His research has also focused on mechanisms of information processing bias for anxiety states. Dr. McKay is also director and founder of Institute for Cognitive Behavior Therapy and Research, a private treatment and research center in Westchester County, New York.
Eric Storch, Ph.D. is an Assistant Professor the Department of Psychiatry, University of Florida. He holds a joint appointment in the Department of Pediatrics as well as affiliate faculty appointments in the Departments of Psychology and Educational Psychology. He currently serves on the editorial boards of Journal of Clinical Child and Adolescent Psychology, Child Psychiatry and Human Development, Journal of Child Health Care, Psicologia Conductual and Journal of Anxiety Disorders. He has published more than 135 peer-reviewed journal articles and book chapters and has given more than 100 conference presentations.
In addition to his peer-reviewed articles, Dr. Storch has edited a textbook on pediatric OCD entitled Handbook of Child and Adolescent Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder. Together with Dr. McKay, he is also editing a book on refractory cases to cognitive-behavioral treatment in children (to be published by Springer). He has received grant funding for his work in OCD from the National Institutes of Health, Obsessive Compulsive Foundation, Florida Department of Health, pharmaceutical companies, and National Alliance for Research on Schizophrenia and Affective Disorders (NARSAD). In addition to treatment outcome, Dr. Storch has specific research interests in treatment augmentation and dissemination. He directs the cognitive-behavioral therapy component at the University of Florida Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder Program and is highly regarded for his treatment of pediatric and adult OCD patients.
