Klappentext zu „Heidegger in China and Japan “
The modern developments of Chinese and Japanese philosophical traditions have engaged in depth with Heidegger's philosophy, but what is the philosophical meaning of this reception of Heidegger's philosophy? This volume explores how the two philosophical traditions interact with Heidegger in their confrontation of the contemporary philosophical issue. By communicating the reception of Heidegger in China and Japan, we initiated a double transcendence of cultural boundaries - both East-West and Chinese-Japanese. This double transcendence offers an intercultural and inter-historical context for the hermeneutic of philosophies. The essays chosen to be published in this volume significantly demonstrated how Heidegger's philosophy continues to provoke new questions and insights amidst intercultural conversation. Most of these questions and insights are shown to be visible only within the intercultural context, and yet are closely related to the contemporary global world.
