The disposal of such huge quantity of coal ash is a big environmental issue. Major proportion of fly ash is disposed in ash ponds, which leads to deterioration of environmental quality. The present study focused to investigate in detail different characteristics of coal ash along with Leachability due to ash pond disposal. The collected coal ash was analyzed for the presence of different heavy metals in order to observe enrichment and partitioning behaviors of elements.
