These metabolic imbalances coupled with impaired immune functions make them more susceptible to metabolic and infectious diseases (Endometritis, Metritis), thereby affecting the productivity drastically. Nutritional supplementation around this period may therefore, provide some support to overcome the adverse effects of impaired metabolic and immune functions. Hence, this book elaborated in details about metabolic and immunological variables changes during periparterient period as well as effect of vitamin E on metabolic and immunological variables. Because better understanding of these metabolic and immunological profiles during periparterient period is most important for health managementin buffaloes.
