Attention is drawn to straightforward procedures that offer significant clinical benefits and to aspects that are too often neglected, such as the impact of systemic diseases. Autoren-Porträt
Alexandre Mersel is Director of the European Continuing Education Program for the Fédération Dentaire Internationale (FDI) and a member of the FDI Education Committee. His academic roles have included Associate Professor at the Hadassah Faculty of Dental Medicine in Israel; Head of the Department of Removable Prosthodontics and Gerodontics at the Haifa Institute for Advanced Dental Studies; Director of the Jerusalem Geriatric Dental Center; and Visiting Senior Lecturer at the Faculty of Dentistry of the University of Marseilles and at the Dental Faculty, Paris V University. Professor Mersel is Founder and Chairman of the European College of Gerodontology and also co-founded the International Association of Gerodontology. He is a past Chair of the FDI Section of Gerodontology and of the FDI Special Committee on Gerodontology. Professor Mersel is a recipient of The City of Paris Silver Medal.
