Esophageal Squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC) is a type of esophagus cancer which is least studied and deadliest cancers worldwide, it affects any part of the esophagus usually located in the upper and middle third part. Cancer of the esophagus accounts for the 8th most common cancer worldwide and leading to 6th most common cause of death, with 400,000 death cases. Eighty percent cancer of the esophagus is observed in less developed countries.The incidence ratio is more than double in men than in women worldwide male to female ratio 2.4: 1. This type of cancer has a very low survival rate with ratio of mortality to incidence of 0.88. In most of the cases the patients have manifested the advance stage at the time of diagnosis, thus making it difficult to treat. The identification of specific markers which could aid treatment at the point of diagnosis, provide proper guidelines for treatment and predict the efficacy of the bio-marker.
