Dr Matt Lodder is the UK¿s foremost expert on the history of tattooing. A Senior Lecturer in Art History and Theory at the University of Essex, his research primarily concerns the history of Western tattooing from the seventeenth century to the present day.Matt has given invited lectures at museums around the world, and has written about tattooing for publications including the Guardian and History Today. His major exhibition, `British Tattoo Art Revealed¿, toured the UK from 2017¿2020.
