The main idea of this book, is to show an alternative proof of the prime number theorem as well as some interesting facts about extreme value theory, with the help of regular variation. Some general statements about regular variation were introduced. Basically it used the book by Bingham & Goldie & Teugels. Sources used subsequently are given in the table of contents, and these are ordered chronologically. We deal only with measurable functions here, instead of also treat the Baire functions too. It is not much more difficult with the Baire functions, it is just that some additional statements can be made. And what may also be important is that log is used as the logarithm with base e.
