Klappentext zu „Rotavirus: A challenge for infection control “
Rapid diagnosis assays have the advantage of facilitating the process of large amount of samples in a very short period of time, allowing fast management measure and treatment to reduce disease severity and infection spread. Rotavirus infections are a major cause of diarrhea in children in both developed and developing countries. Rotavirus genetics, patient immunity, and environmental factors are thought to be related to the severity of acute diarrhea due to rotavirus in infants and young children. Diarrhea remains the second most common cause of death among children below 5 years globally. Among various enteric pathogens, rotavirus appears to be the most important etiological agent of acute gastroenteritis in infants and young children.
