Today virtually every major company and many small and medium-sized enterprises have adopted his concepts. Winter played a major role in the foundation of the International Network of Environmental Management.

Der in Hamburg geborene Jurist und Pionier der umweltbewussten Unternehmensführung Dr. Georg Winter (Deutscher Umweltpreis 1995) ist längst auch ein bekannter Lyrik-Autor und Sprechkünstler. Seine Lyrik erschien u.a. in der Frankfurter Anthologie der FAZ.
