The Himalaya is the youngest mountain chain that is tectonically very active and structurally unstable. The Himalaya has greatness and religious importance, and also a repository of rich natural resources such as water, forests, energy, minerals, wildlife, agriculture, livestock, ancient human cultures and traditions. Against this backdrop, the challenge for the Himalayan areas is not only to minimize the environmental degradation but also to structure the economic decision making process. The Kedarnath Valley is located in the Garhwal Himalaya in the newly created state of Uttarakhand, India. The people of Kedarnath Valley, are largely dependent on the Nature and natural resources which are fortunately available in abundance in the area. The book is an attempt to collect and analyze baseline data on natural resources and strategies for their conservation and management in Kedarnath Valley of Garhwal Himalaya. Thus, the present work will certainly help in filling the gap in humanknowledge on the agro-resources and livestock of the Kedarnath Valley and planning strategy for the conservation and management of agro-resources and livestock of the Kedarnath Valley of Garhwal Himalaya.
