This book attempts to present theory, research, and practical issues related to motivation and school adjustment. A synopsis of current theories in the field is presented, emphasizing to Self-Control, Self-Regulation and Self-Management. More specifically, the focal point is posed to the development of motivation and school adjustment in typical classroom and interaction of children diagnosed with SLD with their peers. Educational approaches can include differentiated instructional strategies, behavioral strategies (including systematic reward systems), student-centered approaches and small group teaching.

Fafouti, EleniMs Eleni Fafouti is a secondary school teacher, graduated from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. She has also a postgraduate degree in Special Educational Needs. She is currently working as a teacher to children with SLD and she has attended a variety of seminars in psycho-pedagogy, counseling and teaching of foreign languages.
