Klappentext zu „Womens Level of Labour Force Participation “
This book investigated patterns in, and perceptions of, labour force participation of a group of mothers with dependent children. A mixed-methods (i.e. questionnaires, interviews and documentary evidence), single case study approach was utilized, involving employees and non-working ex-employees from an Australian University. The research extends the current understanding of the range of factors that influence maternal employment and the processes by which labour force participation decisions are made. The findings are interpreted in light of a number of existing theoretical perspectives and a preliminary model of decision-making is outlined. The research also informs public policy on issues such as childcare and social security allowances and organisational human resource policy with respect to the implementation of work-family options.
