Produktinformationen zu „Art of War. Illustrated edition (ePub)“
"The Laws of War of Master Sun" (this is how the world famous "Art of War" can be literally translated) is an ancient (more than 2500 years old!) Chinese treatise, whose authorship probably belongs to the general and strategist Sun Tzu, who lived at the end of the Chongqiu period or the same at the beginning of the Zhanguo period.
Do not think that this text is just an echo of hoary antiquity, which is of interest mainly to historians. On the contrary, it is still being studied today, for example, in the US Army, as well as in the philosophy and political science departments of the most famous universities in the world.
Sun Tzu perceived war as a necessary evil. It is advisable to wage the war quickly in order to avoid economic losses and gradually increasing internal resistance (opposition from the nobility, as well as the discontent of the population), or to wage it on the territory of the enemy, for the sake of using him, and not his own resources.
He believed that strategy is not planning in the sense of working on a list of tasks, but rather it is the need for a quick and adequate response to changing circumstances.
Thus, this treatise is not so much about military operations, but about organizing the thinking of leaders and about the tools for managing the masses of people.
