On a park bench, an unknown poet abandoned a notebook imbued with the ink of his most intimate emotions: his love letters in verse to Austeja, a mysterious Lithuanian woman who would become the axis of a passionate love affair.
A philosopher discovered this literary treasure, forgotten on that bench. Captivated by its lyrical beauty, he decided to edit and publish it, because "libraries will remain incomplete as long as they do not document the sublime love that Austeja provoked". He presents the work in its entirety, accompanied by a brief analysis that illuminates the motives of the enigmatic poet: he allows his soul be altered by the passion for Austeja, for without such passions, existence would be meaningless.
Each verse of "Austeja Undant" elegantly and precisely chronicles this unrequited love, revealing the torment of the lover, until its sudden end.
"Austeja Undant" intertwines writing and profound sentiments to create something truly transcendental: a mirror in which to contemplate the abysses of passion and find delight in their complex depths.
A book for lovers of high literature, looking for something new that defies conventions, something not made for the market, but for the few romantics still left in the world. Originally written in Spanish, here translated into English by the author himself.
About Roberto Dan Medrano González: Musician, poet, and skeptical philosopher who challenges conventional thought and aesthetic expression in his works. Embedding the outcomes of his metaphysical and epistemological research into his works, he contends that everything is questionable and nothing is as we are made to believe. In 2017, he proposed a solution to the age-old skeptical problem of solipsism: "I know that reality exists because it breaks my will, otherwise I could not even conceive of the idea of 'will'".
