Because of its isolated location, there is an endemic bird species in Barbados, the inconspicuous Barbados Bullfinch, as well as some endemic subspecies. Therefore, Barbados is also recognized as part of a Primary Endemic Bird Area (EBA-P) by BirdLife International. Barbados is also known for its regularity, where seabirds and guests from distant regions, even on the other side of the Atlantic, are encountered.
