A late-modernist, she moves between the mythic and the domestic voices. Her work was praised by, among others, T. S. Eliot, Wyndham Lewis and Robert Graves. Experimental and challenging, Roberts opens out the language of poetry, exploring extremes of subject, scale and conception. Now this extraordinary poet is restored to her place in the development of twentieth-century British poetry.
