Research Paper (postgraduate) from the year 2011 in the subject Law - Comparative Legal Systems, Comparative Law, grade: "-", University of Vienna (Strafrecht und Kriminologie), course: Forschungsarbeit, language: English, abstract: The aim of this study paper is to bring some comparative data from all Albanian codes regarding sentences and penalties according to Albanian customary law, and to prove to what extent they have been approximate or distinctive in sentences measures against perpetrators.
The research presents the reflection, categorization and execution of the punishments based on Albanian customary law, on those who have violated the most important Albanian values, such as, identity, moral, tradition and culture, in order to ensure the harmony and peace within the community.
This study emphasizes the importance of effective application of the criminal code interrelated in actual justice system in Albania and Kosovo, as an urgent call to save lives of people who are stuck in the fear of blood feud, as modern victims of this archaic phenomenon.

Der Autor Professor Dr. Islam Qerimi LLM ist Universitätsprofessor und Vizedekan an der Universität Mitrovica "Isa Boletini" im Kosovo. Seine juristische Ausbildung erhielt er an der Universität Prishtina, vervollständigt durch ein Magisterstudium an der Ruhr-Universität Bochum. Die Promotion erfolgte an der Rechtswissenschaftlichen Fakultät der Universität Wien. Hierüber hinaus erfolgte eine Ausbildung zum Mediator in Dortmund und zum systemischen Coach in Köln. Er veröffentliche eine große Anzahl an Fachbeiträgen in europäischen, vornehmlich jedoch auch in deutschsprachigen juristischen Zeitschriften.Seit 2020 Mitglied der Albanisch-amerikanischen Akademie der Wissenschaften und Künste (THE ALBANIAN AMERICAN ACADEMY OF SCIENCE AND ARTS - NEW YORK) sowie Mitglied der Kriminologischen Gesellschaft (KrimG) e.V.. Die Kriminologische Gesellschaft (KrimG) e.V. ist eine wissenschaftliche Vereinigung deutscher, österreichischer und schweizerischer Kriminologinnen und Kriminologen.
