Geoff Miller, a Melbourne loss adjuster, is investigating a Workers Compensation claimant, suspected of rorting the system. He follows him to a remote Victorian country property where he observes the claimant, and others, on an obstacle course. Whilst videoing the claimant from a distance, Miller realises he's stumbled across a private army or terrorist group, but whilst filming is caught in the act.

His disappearance causes his employers to contact authorities, which in turn leads to ASIO who are investigating an imminent suspected political assassination of a visiting foreign dignitary. Miller's disappearance appears to connect with their own investigation. There is a thrilling race against time to find Miller and prevent the assassination attempt.

Autoren-Porträt von Ray Scott

Ray Scott was born in Kent in England and lived and worked for over 30 years in the Midlands near Birmingham. After National service in the Royal Navy he joined the insurance industry and was employed for many years in Birmingham and Wolverhampton. He and his wife Mary and their two boys immigrated to Australia in 1970 and have lived since then near Melbourne where he again joined the insurance industry, while Mary rejoined the nursing profession. Ray has been writing for many years. This is his sixth venture into publishing, the others being The Fifth Identity, Cut to the Chase (also a paperback) The Wimmera Shoot, Double Dutch, and Line of Dissent, all thrillers.
