He is the author of Slavery Unseen: Sex, Power, and Brazil's Myth of Racial Democracy, and co-editor of Lima Barreto: New Critical Perspectives. Daniel F. Silva is Assistant Professor of Spanish and Portuguese and Comparative Literature at Middlebury College, USA. He is the author of Subjectivity and the Reproduction of Imperial Power: Empire's Individuals and co-editor of Lima Barreto: New Critical Perspectives.
