He earned his doctor of philosophy (May 2001) in mechanical engineering from Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. His research focuses on renewable energy, thermal management of electronics devices, energy conservation for buildings, fluid flow stability, and phase-change heat transfer.
