The titular story in the collection, "Freak in the Flesh," tells the tale of a group of civilians trapped inside city hall on a cold, stormy night. Though, evil lurks within the hall-- as there's a rapid and mysterious disappearance of members of the group that makes the civilians question just who could be behind it.

Then, readers face "Judgement Day," a flash fiction story that details a questionable journey through the afterlife. After tragically passing away in a car accident, one woman must encounter a demon face to face and accept the fact that she is truly dead.

Finally, readers are met with "The Beds That Are Always Made"-- a tale of grief, and a tale of loss. One woman must accept the loss of her late husband. "The Beds That Are Always Made" walks readers through the feeling of loss-- and eventually, change.
