Nico Carpentier is extraordinary professor at Charles University (Prague, Czech Republic); he also holds a part-time position at Vilnius Gediminas Technical University (Lithuania). Previously, he was treasurer (2005-12) and vice-president (2008-12) of the European Communication Research and Education Association (ECREA), and treasurer (2012-16) of the International Association for Media and Communication Research (IAMCR).
