Tod has learned in his job to be street wise in a community where violence and drugs are a daily occurrence. His struggles, supporting the downtrodden, as he sees them, and his constant battle against the institutions and people of wealth whom he considers to be responsible for their oppression leads him down a precarious path. His extreme actions merely result in other problems arising, leading him to question whether ends will ever justify the means. As if things aren't bad enough for Tod, they are compounded further by the presence of Tod's lifelong friend , Detective Inspector Bob James, of Police Scotland. .
