After being followed by a group of robbers and then a team of British soldiers, events get way out of hand and before long was finds himself on another planet.
He has to act fast to gather his bearings before starving to death.
Eventually his thumbling around leads him deep into a forest, where he again has to learn to survive on his own.
After a time he's confronted by a native people, where two of them are assigned to helping him learn their ways.
Scenes lead from one extreme to another. From hunting for food, to horrific battles fighting for his life.
With all this going on, the plot begins to suggest there's more to Iain's being here than mere coincidence.
There's also the suggestion that some don't want him there. Just like they didn't 4,000 of their years ago.
Orion Diaram puts you through the story through Iain's perspective.
