Born in New York City in 1952, Hari Nam took his vows to live as a Khalsa in 1979. He was ordained as a minister (Singh Sahib) in Sikh Dharma in 1994, and has gone on to become a respected spokesperson and representative of the faith. His mission in life is to facilitate personal and global liberation by teaching and modeling the virtues of the Khalsa Way of Life.

At some time or other in his life, he has been a practicing attorney, investment advisor, psychologist, yoga teacher and even a New York City taxi driver.
