The wealthy old owner of an English country estate had just died. In the banquet hall, a grave, elderly man sat at a long table. The man was the decedent's lawyer, charged with reading the deceased's last will and testament. Only two people had been invited to the reading - the owner's beautiful ex-wife, and his young mistress. The women sat at opposite ends of the table. The lawyer was brief and to-the-point. He announced that the will stipulated that only one of the two women present would inherit the entire estate, while the other would receive nothing. He went on to state that the will specified the estate be awarded to the winner of a no-rules, anything-goes, tooth-and-nail, all-night catfight in the estate's library, in which the two rivals would be locked by the attorney until morning. Profusely illustrated.
