In co-authoring this with a 9 year old boy from Trelawny, Jamaica, Doctor Eleanor combines activities and thoughtful knowledge-building exercises with stunning colorful illustrations which make understanding easy for these young readers. Between 1923 and 1940, Garvey influenced leaders and potential leaders of developing countries, to become independent of colonial rule. Garvey's philosophy is built on racial liberation, self-empowerment and a Black homeland in Africa. His philosophy still speaks not only to African Americans, but to people of color as well as different cultures all over the world.

The young co-author, Annu Yah Khadi Stewart has his own You Tube channel "Star Seed Annu Talks". On this channel he talks about how he sees Garvey's philosophy playing out in today's world. The duo of authors are both eloquent and knowledgeable making the book easy to read. It is soundly based on well-researched knowledge. Although designed for young readers, it is sure to attract a wide audience including parents, educators and librarians.
