She was an amazing woman, and historical figure. Bly was an American journalist, and writer, who was not afraid to dig deep for her stories. She created a movement of investigative journalism when she went undercover at the lunatic asylum - so she could learn firsthand about the atrocities the patients had to endure. Bly also travelled around the world, hoping to beat the record set in Jules Verne's book. She wrote about her experiences in 'Around the World in 72 Days', and 'Ten Days in a Mad-House'. She was also a war correspondent in Europe during the Great War, the first woman to report from the eastern front. Nellie Bly was a writer, inventor, fearless investigator, journalist, and so much more.
