Of course this world is not completely fair. The law, with its absolute justice, forbids both the rich and the poor from sleeping under bridges. According to Sam Walton, one of the richest people in the world: "If American managers are going to tell their workers that we are all equal, they should stop giving themselves three to four million dollar bonuses every year and travel in expensive limos or private helicopters, as if they were better than everyone else... During the economic crisis of the 1980s, Cummins Engine General Manager Henry Schacht decided that to be fair, top managers should take the biggest pay cuts. Schacht herself and the directors took pay cuts of between 12 and 15 percent, while her lowest-ranking employees took a 2 percent cut. Schacht said that was completely fair because it was the leaders who were most responsible for the company's difficult business situation, while ordinary workers had very little influence on this.
