spectacle until people began to disappear, including her twin sister, Rosi. Ten years
later, traumatized by the loss, Kova struggles to live as an adult under the thumb of
her overbearing mother. When she is pushed into marriage with a wealthy woman
she does not love, Kova despairs at the thought of being trapped into a life she did
not want. That is, until escape comes in the form of a mysterious transport that
whisks her off the planet on her wedding night, piloted by an A.I. named E-V.
The journal through space leads Kova into a world she never imagined, where she
learns the universe was far stranger than she ever knew, and that the life of every
sentient being in existence was being threatened as part of an ongoing war, with a
single word at the center of the conflict - "Rosi".
Inside one of the last living black orbs, Kova comes face to face with the last
defense against the demigods - a tiny band of surviving champions led by a cold,
ruthless arena master, Astra Ching.
