Do you long for something good?
How about replacing our chaotic reality with something good? Is that even possible these days? Of course! If you'll listen to the Lord Jesus and believe what He says, He'll do that in your life-even if you're a seriously messed up artist.
Ascended Light Design is a company put together by the Lord to deal with specific issues. To do that all he needs are people who will hear Him and follow His lead. Jesus has won two substantial battles in the first two stories in this series. This one will build you up also.
This new tale starts with Eloy de Salas, a talented pansexual artist. His gallery is on Canyon Road in Santa Fe-considered one of the top fine art centers in the world. He's doing well, making a good living using focused debauchery as art. But then he sees a slogan for a gallery show that stops him in his tracks. His intellectual construct disintegrates before his eyes. What is he going to do now? Jesus tells him that he can find the answers he seeks at Ascended Light.
On the other hand is Haseya, one of the beautiful demon-possessed Diné trophy wives from book two. Haseya asked for her demon and is completely controlled by it. Hope is not an option for her.
She was purchased by a political power monger in Santa Fe, who uses her for dispensing favors to lust-driven politicians to get laws passed for that evil group out of Scotland behind the whole mess. He has a prominent gallery on Canyon Road, simply as a money-maker. His multiple demons can let him know who the next fashionable artists are-well before the rest of the world is told.
The Lord has plans for both of them, and they don't have a clue. But He has His ways. He snares Eloy with his own mind. Once Eloy is His, he leads him on a path resulting in strong intercession for Haseya. His whole world has been turned around, and now he has to befriend and pray for the most beautiful woman he has ever seen? What could go wrong with that? I mean, he's a righteous believer now, right?
What I show in my fiction
My purpose in all of my fiction is to show a realistic, not idealized, vision of what the life of a believer in Jesus looks like when he or she follows the lead of the Lord-trusting the One who is able. Almost everything I share in the lives of my believing characters, I have experienced in my forty eight years of walking with the Lord.
I don't see it as my job to force you to endure the horrible things which happen to Christians who do not believe, or the long waits between events when they do. Of course, my characters who get saved in the course of the book have troubles as sinners before they meet the Lord.
In my books, the Lord calls someone to rescue people from the oppression and torture of the demonic. Most of my life has been spent fighting this battle. My father, who mentored me for the first two years after Jesus called me, had a deliverance ministry. He ministered to addicts and the possessed. He told me all the time that his experience was that addicts could be completely delivered, cold turkey, with a simple exorcism. Of course, to keep it, these delivered people had to turn to Jesus completely. Many don't.
I can't edify you by saying many do not. I build you up in the Lord by sharing the times when people do turn to Jesus and believe what He tells them, doing what He asks. The lives of people who have faith are remarkable-with daily testimonies of wonderful things done for them by the King who called them and loves them.
I'm embarrassed to say that I lived many years in the Lord before I began to live this way consistently. But He was merciful and showed me how to do it as I turned toward him more and more. Now my life comes close to matching what my characters experience in these books. Alleluia!
Beginning in 1991, he began teaching the commercial printing program at a large technical-vocational school. By 1996, he was developing and heading up the Business Graphics digital publishing program at that school.
In 1994 he began designing fonts which he used to format his first textbook, "Printing In a Digital World", released in 1996. He began teaching online that same year as well as publishing ebooks for his curriculum. By 2002, he was publishing through Lulu, then Createspace, then Kindle, and then all the rest. He began writing and publishing full-time in 2009.
Though most of David's books are about typography, graphic design, font design, and book design, he has also been teaching scripture since 1974. Since that time he has normally taught one to three Bible studies a week. Once he began writing and publishing full-time, he started releasing verse-by-verse, and topical Bible studies. His vision is to share his experience with young authors.
