Dr. Palakolanu Sudhakar Reddy is a Scientist (DST-INSPIRE faculty fellow) working under the Cell, Molecular biology and Genetic engineering theme at ICRISAT. He has completed his PhD from International Centre for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology (ICGEB), New Delhi, where he worked on “Identification and characterization of the Heat Shock Proteins from Pennisetum glaucum. He was an integral part of the team for developing high-throughput, low-cost methodologies for the isolation of promoters and genes, sequencing for phage DNA and identification of stable reference genes for qPCR studies. He has been awarded with several International and National awards, including Leibniz-DAAD Postdoctoral Fellowship from German Academic Exchange Service, Germany, Young Scientist and INSPIRE Faculty Awards from the Department of

Antonio Ferrante is an Associate Professor at the University of Milan, Italy, and served as Researcher/Assistant Professor at the Department of Crop Science, University of Milan from 2004 -2016. He has 18 years of research and teaching experience. He received a fellowship from the SSSA to conduct research studies on postharvest physiology of Gerbera at the Agrotechnological Research Institute, Wageningen, Netherlands and spent as a Visitor Researcher at the Department of Environmental Horticulture, University of California, Davis, CA, USA, in Professor M. S. Reid's laboratory, returning several times to do additional research at both UCD and UCSD. He has served as visiting teaching professor with ERASMUS program in Cardiff University (2015) and Almeria University (2017). His research activities are related to the understanding plant responses to abiotic stresses; on the role of plant hormones on regulating leaf and flower senescence; molecular studies on the ethylene biosynthesis and actions in plants; postharvest physiology and biology of horticultural crops. His research activities contributed to the registration to a US and world patent on “Compositions and Methods for Preventing leaf yellowing in plants. He has been guest editor of “Ethylene: A key regulatory molecule in plants" in Frontiers in Plant Science and has published more than 100 international publications in peer-reviewed journals.
With 30 years of research and teaching experience, Professor Nafees A. Khan is a plant physiologist at Department of Botany, Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh, India. His current research interest is understanding the mechanisms of hormonal and nutritional regulation of plant growth with special emphasis on abiotic stress vis-a-vis photosynthetic efficiency and abiotic stress tolerance. He has edited 14 books and published more than 170 peer-reviewed research articles in journals of international and national repute. He has won various prestigious awards and serves as Vice President of the National Environmental Science Academy (NESA), India.
