The irreversible loss of monuments and sites is increasingly becoming one of the serious consequences of conflict. Post-Conflict Archaeology and Cultural Heritage draws together papers from archaeological and heritage professionals seeking positive and pragmatic ways to deal with conflict-damaged sites. It aims to show that they can be a valuable resource rather than an inevitable casualty of war, and that good practice can bring communities together and give them ownership of their heritage.
The book is a mixture of the discussion of problems, suggested planning solutions and case studies, and will be of interest to those working with post conflict communities as well as academics.
