Robert Ervin Howard (1906-1936) was an American author of pulp fiction, best known for his creation of the iconic character Conan the Barbarian. Born in Peaster, Texas, Howard spent most of his life in the small community of Cross Plains and displayed a remarkable talent for storytelling from an early age. His literary contributions are vast, yet he is most celebrated for his fantasy works, which played a crucial role in shaping the sword and sorcery genre.
