[Religious Communication and Social Commitment. The Future of the Liberal Paradigm]
That Christian faith is combined with social commitment is already clearly testified in the New Testament. Today, Christian values and denominational loyalties combine with the commitment to the common good in civil society. Sometimes, one could get the impression that a kind of "social religion" is originating that has a high group-related potential of motivation. The author analyses the interrelationships between religion and commitment - and also takes a look at non-Christian religions.
