I was born in Calcutta India on 15 January 1949. I am of Anglo-Indian background. My family migrated to Perth, Western Australia, arriving on 25 January 1954. I have spent my life growing up in Perth. I have been married twice and have had no children of my own. From my second marriage, I have two stepchildren-a girl and boy-who are adults now. My stepdaughter, who is married, has two children-a girl and a boy.

My education has been done in Perth, and I became a draftsman because I was good at drawing. I finished a diploma in civil engineering part-time at night school. I began work in the Western Australian Railways and then moved on to the Water Authority of Western Australia. I then moved into the private sector and worked at different businesses until I decided that I had had enough and retired.

I have always liked to write stories. I would write them down, and it was hard to edit them. Now that I can sit down and actually spend more time with my thoughts and get them down on the computer, I feel I am happier creating stories while my wife gets on with her sewing. I love the use of a computer as I remember building computer kits when I was in my twenties. They were hard to program, and most of the time, they just had a matrix of flashing lights. Now I have a 3.1 GHz chip with 6 GB of DRAM with all-in-one A3 printer, scanner, and fax machine. The best thing in this computer age is being able to e-mail documents and messages all over the world. The future is coming, and I hope I am here to greet it. (Bring it on.)
