The thirty-nine-volume set, published in the SUNY series in Near Eastern Studies, under the general editorship of Professor Ehsan Yarshater of Columbia University, is the only complete English translation. The History was published by SUNY Press between 1985 and 1999, with the Index, added to the set in 2007. It is an essential and highly praised resource in Islamic studies.
