Dr Rainer Schneider obtained his degree in psychology and sports science from the University of Freiburg, Germany. He was awarded a doctorate in personality psychology, and completed a doctoral thesis with the title ¿Paradoxien des Willens¿ (The Paradoxes of Will). Following my years of work in the fields of experimental psychology and the evaluation of alternative medical treatment methods at the University of Freiburg, he founded his company RECON ¿ Research and Consulting ¿ in 2007. In 2010, he became a licensed coaching psychologist (IMPART/Osnabrück), and a year later he developed the web-based coaching program ¿MOVE ¿ Motivationsbasierte Verhaltensänderung¿ (Motivation-based Behavioral Change).Dr Rainer Schneider conducts research in the field of specific and non-specific treatment effects and placebo effects, and has coordinated and supervised numerous international research projects. He also presents seminars and talks on these issues on a regular basis. He is the author of a number of guides and publications and a reviewer for scientific journals, and also acts as a scientific adviser for a number of foundations and organizations, including the German Medical Association (Bundesärztekammer).
