Adobe days in the 30's, Navy days in the 40's, medical days of the 40's to 90's, writing days in the 2000's and a summation make up this offering. Adam Dumphy has sorted through these times and brought out what he feels is the spirit of his past in these little stories. Experiences unknown to others, especially those members of the present generation, seem important now and worth remembering and broadcasting. They represent the Sturm and Drang that complete the cycle of one man's life.
After self-publishing twenty novels in four years, Adam Dumphy in looking through his notes found a number of squibs, squiggles and orphans that seemed worthwhile. They were squibs jotted down in haste, scriles on the margin of a manuscript and orphaned chapters, which seemed worthy of publishing, while the rest of the novel did not. All are based on his personal experiences, and he thought the event, or the wordsmithing of the event, might be of interest to others.
In line with his oft mentioned disgust with authors whose stock in trade is violence or indecency, (The world has too much of this in fact without needing more in fiction. The serious harm they do by this is common knowledge.) he tries to write these in a humorous form even if it was not that humorous to him at the time.
Not that he thinks that his life was remarkable or exemplary. On the contrary he feels his life quite ordinary, commonplace even. But that is the point. He feels that the commonplace life, without laurels or notoriety, is the one life that can bring lasting happiness to a man. The orderly control of the little happenings of each day, every day, is the only thing that can keep one stable and cheerful.
Some call this the "Little Way" of Therese of Lisieux.
He has brought these squibs all together in a chronological order to broadcast this belief.
