Perkins School of Theology, Southern Methodist University awards her the doctorate degree in 1999. Her book, Death and Dying Encounter Spirituals: A Pastoral Care Devotional for the Terminally Ill, provides caregivers a resource for spiritual care. She lives in Oklahoma, City, Oklahoma.
